MC Ware in Stokesley said it had received more enquiries than ever from businesses wanting to outsource, partly due to financial pressures.
Fears of an economic slump and a growing skills shortage in the IT sector had contributed to the trend, said MC Ware managing director Jonathan Wheatley. Outsourcing had saved some businesses up to ?20,000 a year, he said.
“Using a third party also addresses the problem of rapidly changing technical threats to businesses, which can be crippling,” he added.
“Outsourcing is sometimes viewed in a negative light as many people believe that it can only mean job losses and valuable contracts being redeployed abroad, but these days that generally isn’t the case,” said Mr Wheatley.
“More often than not, the person in charge of IT within a company also has another primary role. Hence, outsourcing can increase a business’s productivity dramatically and ensure computer security and safety. Managers are realising that employing a third party can not only save them money, but time and space.”
